Is it Possible to Learn Guitar Online

Is it Possible to Learn Guitar Online Suzy S. With the advent of YouTube tutorials for just about everything, its only fitting that there are a lot of videos out there claiming to be able to teach you how to play guitar. While you might think this is a quick and easy way to become a pro, youll want to make sure you have all of the information before diving in headfirst. Online Tutorials When youre surfing the Internet, youll come across many different websites with prerecorded tutorials to help you learn guitar online. But the keyword there is help, as theyre never going to be personalized enough to be the only resource youll need to learn guitar properly. Its all too easy to learn guitar online incorrectly, such as poor strumming patterns or improper chord fingerings, without a private instructor to guide you. In between scheduled lessons, however, using online tutorials can be a great supplemental resource to keep you motivated. When youre working with a private guitar instructor, either in-person or online, he or she may have some suggestions for tutorial videos for the new techniques youre learning. Dont be afraid to ask your teacher for a few videos that can help you master the new lesson material after the instruction time is over. A good teacher will recognize that one of the best ways to learn is repetition, and since its impractical to have instruction time every day to go over the same techniques, the next best thing is to watch (and mimic) tutorials that properly describe the new techniques. Live, Online Lessons In addition to prerecorded tutorial videos, theres also another method to if you want to learn guitar online: live, online lessons. These are great if your schedule doesnt allow for consistent in-person lessons.  If you have a busy travel schedule, for example, scheduling online lessons is a great way to learn guitar online. There are many instructors out there who are able to provide  online lessons through Skype or other video chat services, and most have flexibility in scheduling to make sure that your life and your lessons dont get in each others way. If youre going to go the online guitar lesson route, youll need a few extra things aside from your guitar: a broadband Internet connection, and a webcam to use with your video chat service. Most instructors use Skype for this, but some might prefer other services such as FaceTime and Google Hangouts. All of these chat services are free to sign up for. Of course, one big disadvantage of online lessons is the lack of actual face-to-face contact. If youre developing a new technique and start showing signs of a bad habit, a private instructor may need to physically manipulate your hand position, which cant be done through a computer screen. Even so, most private teachers are able to do a good enough job explaining where youre falling short and can help you break the bad habit through video chat. Best of Both Worlds: Combine Each Resource If you want to get the most out of your guitar lessons, you can combine in-person lessons, live online lessons, and online tutorials. Even if you can only meet in-person once a month, and then have the other weeks where youll be conducting the lesson over video chat, youll still have the chance to have face-to-face contact and can continue learning through video chat. When youre looking to learn guitar online, theres a lot of information available. Most of the tutorial videos have the best intentions at heart, but it can be easy to pick up bad techniques if youre not careful. Working with a private instructor to keep you on the right path is key! Interested in Private Lessons? Search thousands of teachers for local and live, online lessons. Solving Systems By Substitution

Solving Systems By Substitution Substitution is a very useful method in mathematics. In the method of substitution one of the variable is substituted to find the other variables and vice versa. It helps reduce the given question or solution to a simpler form. Expressions can consist of one or more than one unknown variables with different coefficients and constant numbers. Example 1: Solve by substitution the set of equations x - 5y = 30 and x + y = 6? Solution: The given equations are x - 5y = 30 and x + y = 6. Here x, y are the unknown variables. Substitute the variable x. From one equation x = 30 + 5y, substituting in the other equation. This gives 30 + 5y + y = 6; 30 + 6y = 6; 6y = -24; y = -4. Now substitute y = -4 in x + y = 6; x = 10. Hence the solution is x = 10 and y = -4. Example 2: Solve by substitution the set of equations x - y = -2 and x + y = 2? Solution: The given equations are x - y = -2 and x + y = 2. Here x, y are the unknown variables. Substitute the variable x. From one equation x = -2 + y, substituting in the other equation. This gives -2+ y + y = 2; -2 + 2y = 2; 2y = 4; y = 2. Now substitute y = 2 in x + y = 2; x = 0. Hence the solution is x = 0 and y = 2.

What are the Benefits of a Primary School Tutor

What are the Benefits of a Primary School Tutor At Home Private Teachers to Provide Extra School Support ChaptersWhat does the Primary School Curriculum Consist Of?Helping Students Who Have Trouble In MathematicsHelping Students Who Have Difficulties in ReadingHelping Students Who Have Difficulties in WritingHire a Personal Tutor to not Fall Behind Before Secondary SchoolThe number one concern for parents: children dropping out of school  The pupil is exposed to result based pressure from their teachers, fellow classmates and finally their beloved family. The accumulation of homework from various subjects, the pace of primary school or even worse extrinsic problems and influences are all elements that can cause the young student to feel overwhelmed and be tempted to repel all the valuable information they are learning. Therefore, let us all look at how personal tutoring classes can improve the situation for many young British primary students. In order to help the student reach the road to success, we need to be honest and realize that there is no perfect solution since we live in a very i mperfect world, however, there are a number of great options to choose from. The student needs to be kept far away from memorizing and knowing by heart rules that they cannot fully understand (that’s basically what they are taught at school). In order to do that, the private tutor needs to present mathematical concepts and abstract notions using concrete material that the student can manipulate and touch. Then, as often as possible, let the child reason and determine the answer by himself. The pupil needs to determine, without any help, how to arrive at the correct conclusion. Thus, they remember how they came to the correct answer. Finally, be pedagogical!During your at-home tutoring sessions, think about the 5 senses…The difficulties in math often come from the fact that the student doesn’t see or clearly understand what we are asking. Once the statement or equation is understood, the student can finally make progress.  Mathematics is a subject that remains important, througho ut your entire school career. Moreover, to pursue a scientifically based career, why not plan to take remedial classes at a secondary school level also? A lot more complicated and difficult than let’s say a game of hopscotch or a friendly football match!Reading rapidly solicits our learning capacities (our attention or memory), our knowledge (recognition of the alphabet…), and our wisdom (to decipher a text, unders tand the definition of a word from a certain image or from the meaning of the sentence…).These learning techniques are somewhat complicated in the beginning and are difficult for primary school teachers to explain well in a class that is overcrowded with bratty students. Therefore, the pupil needs a tailor-made, personal tutoring session to thoroughly comprehend the aforementioned elements in order to facilitate the reading process.A specialized teacher, psychologist or school speak therapist can often offer a helping hand to the student, however, it is usually the regularly scheduled and well-structured classes of a private tutor that bring the most success. These private lessons will act as a bridge connecting the students to his classroom lessons. The two go hand and hand and the former is essential for a student who is having difficulties in reading. If the student has great trouble it would be wise for the tutor to take the time to explain every single letter of the words that are found in a word bank, the results will be worth the effort! The faster the pace becomes in the classroom, the faster the young pupil loses confidence in himself and shuts in on himself. These are things that need to be avoided because they can easily jeopardize the student’s future success at school. With that being said, the role of a personal tutor is never in vain because the young child needs a positive extrinsic influence that he can count on and trust in as a friend during hard times.Students become very attached to their academic tutors! To offer remedial help in English to a student who has trouble reading, the tutor will diagnose the issues like a well-trained physician to identify where are the common mistakes.A personalized reading test comes highly recommended because you will be able to observe the technique of the young student and therefore be able to identify the procedural mistakes he is committing.Ask yourself certain questions: Does the pupil understand the s tory he is reading? Are they memorizing the key vocabulary words?Does the student correctly identify letters that look alike?A series of exercises should be implemented to have the student progress and perfect their reading. During the tutoring program, they will proceed to understand syllabic decompositions of words and sort between identical letters. And there is nothing wrong with such an ongoing academic support programme through secondary school and even into your child's university studies!Helping Students Who Have Difficulties in WritingDrawing pictures is proven to build the student's confidence in writing. (Source: Visual Hunt)From Leeds to London, schools have always been filled with students who have difficulties writing in English. But how do we propose suggestions to a student who has trouble in writing prepare for an exam?Evidently, among all the distinguished professionals who are likely to support one could resort to: Speech therapist: if there is time on the  agenda, A reading specialist that is known for doing graphotherapy: an unregulated profession, an unsupported rhythm and very expensive sessions!  A psychologist: very expensive if you hire a private one and not necessary if the student has only a slight writing issue. If the student is constantly and permanently confronting by writing, they can quickly become discouraged, stressed and still poorly express their writing skills. With these issues the skilled professionals may come to their aid or in certain situations hinder their progress, therefore the private tutor should take advantage of providing the student with the extra school support they need in order to succeed.    In the cosy, comfort of the pupil's own home, all the writing-related stress diminishes thanks to the help of a personal academic instructor who acts as a caring big brother instead of a cranky babysitter.    By prioritizing drawing in an entertaining way, something the pupil has done since before kindergarten, he will im prove his fine motor skills and the holding of his pencil so that he regains confidence in his writing. Helpful Tip: the use of special lines (enlarged or the first coloured line) facilitates learning English writing.  Hire a Personal Tutor to not Fall Behind Before Secondary SchoolBefore planning on taking remedial classes in secondary school, the student needs to finish primary school with style!Homework accumulates every day, classes keep going at a quick pace and the pupils slowly get lost in the pages of their textbooks that weigh more than a Range Rover!  Despite motivation, help from the entire teaching staff and his older brothers and sisters, he sees the secondary school in the distance but he doesn't feel ready because he hasn't assimilated all of the basic primary school concepts.  School holidays, Wednesdays and weekends, there is still a ton of spare time and the parents ask themselves questions on about their child's scholastic difficulties.  How would private, academi c tutoring help my daughter or son more than the support they are offered by teachers in the classroom? That's a very good question indeed!Considering a recent study, it would be wise for parents to hire a private tutor in the UK since the research showed that British parents give their children less help with education than almost every other country!   These stats are concerning but go on to show that hiring a personal tutor to follow your child through primary to secondary school would be a great idea.  The support a pre-secondary school private tutor can bring is multiple:  Bridging gaps before they weigh more heavily on the student's shoulders,Reinforce the student's knowledge of the alphabet and the number system,Train and mentally prepare the student to juggle a more intense class load.    It's very rare to see a student smiling when they receive their report card. Private tutoring can turn that frown upside down and give your child a reason to smile.  If you are tempted by a dventure and want to fortify the foundation of your child's scholarly knowledge, Superprof offers professional private tutors! While we wait to see you using our platform, we wish you or your child great success in school!    Read on now for how to find the ideal tutor no matter what your child's level is...

The Benefits of Online Tuition

The Benefits of Online Tuition Here at Tutorfair, we are seeing more lessons than ever before taking place online - making up to 50% of Tutorfair lessons, on some days! For some clients and tutors, online tuition can seem like a strange method of teaching at first. We asked one of our top tutors, Jim R, to share his experience tutoring online... I’ve been working as a tutor for TutorFair for around five years and   recently completed teacher training. I was lucky enough to be employed, after a rewarding PGCE year in London state schools, by Wellington College â€" one of the UK’s leading independent boarding schools. My wife and I had to relocate to Crowthorne, which was exciting in one sense as we were beginning a new rural chapter in an idyllic setting within a rich academic community. In another, it felt a shame as I would no longer be able to tutor in person.  I loved my time as an ‘on call’ tutor in London and I was apprehensive about the effectiveness of online communication as a means through which to tutor English lessons â€" how would I build rapport? How would I use educational resources imaginatively and interactively? Would it feel too clinical, impersonal, detached? I have since found online tutoring to be equally â€" if not more â€" effective. As far as building a warm and constructive relationship with tutees go, I feel there’s an advantage to having the session ‘broadcast’ as it can lend a more performative element to the job. While there can be no substitute for hard work to progress tutees, being able to make your tutees laugh can be transformative as far as learning goes, and the fact the session is framed by a face in close up does appeal to tutees and tutors (like this one) who aren’t strangers to an opportunity for judiciously timed silliness. There has been no change to the effective use of resources; in fact, it’s more straightforward if the internet is a mid-session click away. I can ask parents to email me teacher instructions well ahead of the session if there’s specific school-work that they would like covered, but I can also email specific texts or exercises with a week’s (or more) notice to mums and dads so tutees have hard copies ready well in advance, should this be necessary. Saying this, printing can be done away with entirely if the online session is run through Google Hangouts â€" the screen can be shared, meaning homework or resources can be worked on collaboratively without recourse to hard copies. Online tuition suits busy parents better as their time commitment is far reduced as disruption to family life is minimised. There’s no letting me in, finding a space, letting me out. I can email feedback and take up only as much time as the session demands. There’s also peace of mind as parents can see exactly how many minutes I’ve spent online. The session is pure tuition, small talk is reduced and, as a consequence, there is value for money. Of course none of this precludes lengthy conversations with parents if they are needed. Another major bonus of this form of tutoring is that it’s possible to be anywhere in the world and still receive tuition. I have worked with many families who value consistency and routine in their child’s education and who prefer to keep tuition ticking over during longer holidays or where it’s necessary to re-locate for a time. I worked with an American family who were on a tour of the world together for a year, they kept up tuition in creative writing with their two boys throughout the trip. Needless to say I was often struck by the curious locations the boys Skyped from â€" jungles, beaches and â€" perhaps most unusually â€" the Arctic circle! If you’re considering online tuition, but are yet undecided, I would be happy to chat to you about the process. What an age to be alive! Jim R  is one of our top  English tutors. As well as being a fantastic private tutor, Jim is a  fully qualified teacher at Wellington College, one of the UK's leading public schools. My Volunteering Experience at St. Aloysius College

My Volunteering Experience at St. Aloysius College On Thursday 2nd July, less than a week after signing up with Tutorfair, I was given my first volunteering task - a UCAS (Undergraduate Courses at University and College) talk at St. Aloysius College in North London. Public speaking is not one of my (many) talents, so I was a little apprehensive when confronted with a classroom full of 30 energetic Year 12 students and only one other volunteer helper, Rosa. However, once I'd introduced myself, the questions about university were fired so frequently I forgot to be nervous! To make things more manageable, we split the students into two groups. This ensured myself and Rosa were able to get to know the pupils and really provide in depth answers to their many questions, which encompassed all aspects of university life, from living at home or on campus, to how different university teaching is from school teaching. Here, I spoke about my wonderful time at LSE as a student who commutes to save money and how difficult I found the transition to university, where studying is far more independent than at school. After twenty minutes I swapped groups with Rosa and was met with the same enthusiasm from the second batch of students who were particularly interested in advice on writing personal statements, which they would be drafting the very next day at school. I gave them the only piece of advice I found valuable from my own school time: write with enough passion to remind the admissions professors why they chose to study that same discipline all those years ago. It was such a pleasure to work with the students at St. Aloysius and provide some answers to the exact same queries I had before going to university three years ago. All in all, it was an afternoon well spent and I'd recommend volunteering with Tutorfair to everyone!
